Page builder carousel wrong image sizes
-
Hello,
On my main page, there are my latest posts in a carousel. I need to keep them uploaded in the size of 772×350. You can look at them on my blog’s page. But the images on a carousel on main page should be full and resized. They are not.
How do I do that?
Kind regards,
KamilThe page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @koniecznykw
Thanks for reaching out. When editing the Post Carousel there is a setting provided to choose the Featured Image Size. If the size you require isn’t there you could create that size using a plugin like Simple Image Sizes.
Hello,
Okay, I understand, but I have some more questions.
1) What are the image sizes I should use for this Post Carousel? How do I determine that?
2) I used this plugin before, but it doesn’t work well with Schema Theme. I want to change only this post carousel image size. How do I do that? Thanks, Kamil
Hi
1. The widget can access all of the image sizes in your WP installation. It’s up to you to select the best size for the page and context. The 150 x 150 Thumbnail is a common choice.
2. The widget doesn’t create image sizes, it just accesses the image sizes available in your WP install. If you’d like to create a new image size you could use: Simple Image Sizes to do that.
Hello,
Okay, I have those names for images in my settings -> Media panel:

schema-featured
schema-featured2
schema-related
schema-related2
schema-widgetthumb
schema-widgetthumb2
schema-widgetfull
schema-slider
schema-slider2
sydney-large-thumb
sydney-medium-thumb
sydney-small-thumb
sydney-service-thumb
sydney-mas-thumb
sow-carousel-defaultI want to use only one of them so that my other media don’t break. Which one should I use for main page SiteOrigin Post Carousel Widget?
Can I determine it on my own and always be right?
Thanks,
KamilThose are images sizes created by the WordPress core, plugins and themes. You can use any of them, it’s completely up to you. It won’t break anything else. It’s just a size created by WP, plugins or themes.
If I use any of them, they will destroy my image sizes along the website.
I want to change only my carousel image sizes. How do I do that?
You can use the plugin Simple Image Sizes to create a new image size and then edit the carousel and select that image size.
For the link to Simple Image Sizes, please, see above.
For creating a new image size with Simple Image Sizes, see their docs.

If this isn’t clear, please, let me know what part isn’t making sense.
I say this because I’ve mentioned this route a few times. Have you tried to create a new image size with Simple Image Sizes? I’m not suggesting you change an existing image size, you can create a brand new image size, regenerate and then select it in the carousel. Have you tried this?
Here is the process in images.
1. Go to Media with Simple Image Sizes plugin activated and create a new size:
2. Go the Carousel, select that new size, whatever it may be called.
Hello,
I’m sorry I think I didn’t describe the issue very well…My image is normally 700×350 for the Schema Theme and it’s resized for related posts image. And normally they look like those on my blog page:
http://onlinebusinessexcellence.com/blogBut on the main page the sides are cut off. You can see it inside my Site Origin live editor:
And when I change it to 70×60 pixels, it looks like this:
But I want actually the size of the first images, so I have 4-5 of them at one time at my home page. But they are cut off on left and right…
I thought that resizing on the Post Carousel will help with this…
Kind regards,
KamilHey Kamil
Have you tried adjusting the cropping? So with Simple Image Sizes enabled, go to
Settings > Media. If you’ve created a new thumbnail size, check the Cropping setting. By default it’s set toYes, try setting it toNoor one of the array values provided and see if you can find a setting that works. Let me know how that goes. -
