  • I’m guessing if it has been a long time, there are compatibility issues with the core or plugins or server.
    FTP or Control Panel over to your server, and delete all your plugins.
    Then see if you can login.
    Then add you plugins back in.
    If you don’t want to do this on the live site, download the files locally, and download the database using hosting tools like phpMyAdmin and run it locally first.

    How can i delete the plugins with FTP?
    Is there a folder which i have to make empty?

    Just navigate to your-domain/wp-content/plugins
    Select All – Right Click – Delete

    Or you could move them into wp-content, and add them back in one-by-one.
