Papin, I am NOT very computer literate, certainly not a programmer/developer, but it seems my website was deranged when WP was updated automatically to 5.4.1, and I just happened to update my PHP to 7.1 or higher on 1and1 10 days later. My Themes/Plugins were not updating apparently. I had seemingly accumulated 10 Themes, and WP recommended I delete all but 3, which I did, but this may have caused the problem? I think this may have happened once before. The Themes involved were Element, Element Child and various 20s up to 2020.

Could this Plug-In prevent that problem from happening in the future? Or am I WAY beyond my depth here?

It was suggested by the 1and1 agent that sort of led me astray, after trying for an hour to straighten things out to return to normal, that I needed to contact the Paid Theme Editor (It’s Element) to see if they can restore things. Seems a stretch.

Separate issue: can you or anyone suggest a consultant to take a look at what happened, and help me to repair the damage or (shudder) start over?

Using Mac, Mojave 10.14.6, Chrome,83.0.4103.61 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Thanks for any suggestions! But remember, I am no kind of programmer. Just a doc.

If themes are inactive you can delete them without any problems happening. It might have something to do with the PHP update, those can mess things up real bad.

If it was the WordPress update that caused the issues there’s unfortunately not much this plugin can do about it. It doesn’t know when an update will break a site so it just does the update.
