Page loading times

Hello there, my website is currently running faster on my forums than on the main page. The forum uses phpbb and my main page is wordpress. I am using a mod to tie the two together, but I am not 100% sure if that is the cause of the slow down. In addition, both the forum and the main page have a similar layout in terms of images used. As a result, I don’t think it is my host or image sizes that are causing the delay. Does anyone have any suggestions to improve my sites performance on the main page?
