    Hello,

    I have not created a page yet and my posts appear as the first ‘page’ as their own pages. I have checked “front page displays posts” under Settings > Reading.

    Is this ok to do (to have a blog with no “pages” but instead just show posts)?

    I will be launching the blog on a subdomain so I’m pretty sure blog.mysite.com will look weird as blog.mysite.com/blog…

    Can anyone offer some advice on whether I need to create a page and display my posts there instead of them just displaying freehand..

    There’s no need to use pages if you haven’t any use for them. They’re most often used for static content (like an about page), in contrast to the more common blog-style content. It’s very common in WP to display your most recent posts as your site’s ‘home page’.
