Page updates and missing pages

Can anyone help me here, I have been trying to update one of my pages but when I clicked the update button it went back to the original work and non of the new stuff has been saved. Then I have lost 3 of the pages including the one I was trying to update. When I open the pages tab it says I have 7 pages published, which are visable in the back office and I can update them but it also says that I have 3 pages as drafts but when I click on the drafts tab in the back office it says there are no pages found. Can anyone help.
