page/post editor malfunctioning

    was updating a page when I noticed a couple of things. First the image that’s supposed to be behind all the text as a featured image was absent. Oh, it was still selected in the editor but after my revision it stopped showing. Tried to reupload and reinsert it and just got a page that never loaded after the requester. Then i noticed that the “text” button don’t work. I tried to switch from Visual to Text to tweek my font settings in the code (no font button in the editor) but click as I might, it remained on the Visual tab. Then i tried pressing other things like the Screen or Help drop down and they don’t work either. Odd though, on every other page but the editor page (for erither post or page) all the click to drop down or roll up stuff works fine. Just the Editor is goofed up.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    The only thing that’s changed is the last time I hit Update (wp was updated and jetpack), and I don’t use any editor plugins (though I just installed wp edit to see if that solves anything- it didn’t though it’s a great plugin).
