I clicked o nthe links for the test pages and I tried adding php to the urls and they didn’t show either.

sorry, I mispelled it to, but just about any spelling correction on usenet anyway, must contain a misspell the poster doesn’t see.
The about page is there, but not the test pages linked below it.

Thanks for the help so far, but when I try to manage files, it tells me my_hacks.php doesn’t exist…help?
Go to Options > Miscellaneous, and uncheck “Use legacy my-hacks.php file support”.
it is unchecked….should I check it?
Ok , so I think I get the point of what is happening with my pages…how do I make it so WP will manage the .htaccess file? (I know all about permissions, I’ve been tinkering with *NIX for years and I do have shell access to the server)
It’s ok. I just turned permalinks off. I am not trying to tweak it for search engines. Thanks for the help everyone.
