Same for me, i have 5 items displaying title, price and image and each page load takes 10+ seconds. It also does not appear to cache the queries at all and loads them each and every time (logged in or not).
So far this is the only issue preventing me staying with this plugin.

We have done performance enhancements with v1.4. Can you confirm if the pagespeed is improved now?
I installed the new version today and tested. This plugin required more tweaking for page speed and performance.
