    Hi,

My site was slow so I started troubleshooting by deactivating all plug-ins and activating them. When I figured out the responsible plugin, Familab Template, which is a theme plugin, I started turning on Jetpack but it wont set up. The warning is – The required “secret_1” parameter is malformed.
I got this and also tried the first plugin also – but nothing happened. Also please tell me how to uninstall the first plugin. It is not there in the plug in manager.

If reinstalling Jetpack doesn’t work, there’s a couple more things you can try.

First, please install and activate this plugin:
    https://github.com/automattic/jetpack-addons/archive/add/jp-rm-options.zip

Once activated, it will remove any stale Jetpack data on your site. Deactivate the plugin, then try to connect again.

If that doesn’t work, please delete that plugin, then try installing and activating this one instead:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack-addons/archive/add/old-connection-flow.zip

Once installed, try to connect again. This plugin uses a slightly different connection flow, which may help with the issue you’re having. If successful, you can then delete that plugin.

It looks like the site is hosted on WordPress.com Business plan. Could you please contact us from here: https://wordpress.com/help/contact

I was using it on wordpress.com. I have migrated to another host and have left wordpress.com and use ww.wp.xz.cn.

Kindly expedite it, if possible, as I have no backup till the time I dont get back the jetpack.

    Hi @vasudevb

I am not seeing a Jetpack plan associated with your site, http://www.indikaari.in, so you will not have backups until you connect your site to Jetpack and purchase a plan.

I am not sure how the FamiLab plugin works and why it isn’t giving you the option to remove it. I suggest that you reach out to the authors here:

    https://support.familab.net/

I would suggest starting there and getting that plugin properly removed.

Once you have done that, you should be able to uninstall and reinstall Jetpack.

    Hi,

I want to know how to remove this – First, please install and activate this plugin:
    https://github.com/automattic/jetpack-addons/archive/add/jp-rm-options.zip

Please read the message above. Do I even need to remove it or should I just uninstall jetpack once?

And I got it – I had jetpack when I was with wordpress. org and now it is separate. Hence the confusion.

    Hi there,

That plugin will completely reset your Jetpack selected preference but not solve the connection issue.

I did a small change in the URL in our system. Could you please first completely remove the existing Jetpack plugin from the site. After that, please try to reinstall, and activate the plugin.

    1. Jetpack cant be registered – https://ibb.co/cb3D0sN

    2. My jetpack subscription expired when I left wordpress.com i think

    3. As you said that the above mentioned plugin resets the preferences, my question is that I have installed that in order to set things right, how do i remove it? It is not visible in the plug-in dashboard.

    Thank you

    Hi there,

Are you running any security plugins that can stop Jetpack to connect? If you are, then can you please try connecting to Jetpack after disabling the plugin?

If that is not working too, can you please share your WP Admin login credentials in the secure form here.

My jetpack subscription expired when I left wordpress.com i think

All paid WordPress.com plans have included paid Jetpack features, so those paid features expired when you left WordPress.com, but you should be able to connect Jetpack to a free plan on a self-hosted site; further, you can purchase paid Jetpack plan to start those paid features again on your site.

As you said that the above-mentioned plugin resets the preferences, my question is that I have installed that in order to set things right, how do i remove it? It is not visible in the plug-in dashboard.

Once that plugin is activated, it removes any stale Jetpack data on the site and the plugin uninstall automatically. So now the plugin is uninstalled from your site and will not appear in the dashboard.

    Hi there,

Sometimes activating that plugin and removing data from Jetpack works, but sometimes it’s not. In your case, one or two plugins were conflicting with Jetpack. When I deactivated them all and try to connect Jetpack, it worked! Now Jetpack is connected to your site, and with that said, the issue is now resolved, and you are good to go!

I can’t provide the name of a specific plugin that was conflicting. But if you want, you can again disconnect Jetpack, deactivate all plugins and re-enable your plugins one by one, trying connecting Jetpack in between until you find the one causing the conflict.

    (@vasudevb)

    Thank you. It worked.

    Hi,

What you did that time worked quite well. However, I had to deactivate jetpack to test something and after the testing was done, Jetpack is now showing the same error. I also tried by disabling all plugins as you said. But it isn’t happenning. Please refer to the video to get an idea.
