• Hello everyone,

I am having some trouble. I put together a site for our ministry page. I had it looking pretty good, but went to try another theme. Well then it all fell apart on me.

I am getting the below error and cant even get to the dashboard to make changes.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home4/mpetry/public_html/cincybfc.org/wp-content/themes/novellite/inc/customizer.php on line 1043

Searching on the topics it seems I have to change the theme back to the stock one. I am fine with that, but I don’t know how. I saw I can use an FTP, but I have never done that and I don’t know what all I need to do.

Anyone have a step by step guide to fix this problem?

    Thanks

    Short term fix:

Using FTP or your hosting control panel’s file manager app, delete the directory /home4/mpetry/public_html/cincybfc.org/wp-content/themes/novellite. This will cause WP to fall back to the default theme (probably twentyseventeem).

    For the theme:

The developers and users of that theme would be the best people to ask. You can reach them here:

When I removed it I started getting the message “The parent theme is missing. Please install the “novellite” parent theme.”

Hmmm… OK, download a new copy of novellite (see link above), unzip it locally, and upload via FTP.
