    Hi
Im a complete newbie to wordpress and am still building my site. After a day or so of trying to solve the problem of a second homepage I deleted what I thought was the correct text in the header php. But Ive obviously made a mess of it an deleted the wrong thing and now I get the below message when I try to access the site through the dashboard.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/my/go/lf/mygolfingfriend.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/themes/thatgolf-theme/header.php on line 37

There wasnt much on the site so I thought I would try and install the theme again but it just keeps saying the same message. This is my first website and im getting a bit lost with all the terminology.

Please can anyone help me – I appear to me making a bit of a mess of it at the moment.

    thanks

Try switching to the default theme automatically by renaming:

    wp-content/themes/thatgolf-theme

    to:

    wp-content/themes/thatgolf-theme-old

using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    thanks for your reply.

Im just wondering if you could point me in the right direction of where I would go to rename the wp-content. Is it on the WP dashboard or my hosts control panel..
Im sorry Im a bit new to all this.

    thanks

This would be on your server – not via WordPress.
