    FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the wp-content/plugins/facebookplugin folder.

    Spot on! That fixed it.
    Thank you so very much. It always sucks to be in the middle of something productive just to be locked out by some “unknown issue”, well now the issue is known. And I appreciate the heck out of it.
