All up-to-date of course 🙂 so:
WordPress: 4.9.7
WPS Hide Login: 1.4.3
PHP 5.3.10 – very old but unfortunately a fact with the shared host where the issue is.
I also suspect this being the problem because this did not cause a problem before the latest WPS Hide Login update.
Unfortunately this is not possible since the website is on shared hosting and the host has no plans yet to migrate the complete server to a newer php version. 🙁
Also there’s no possibility to set the php version higher with an individual website like you can do on more modern hosts.
As you can see there are other reactions as well with the same problem, this appears to be an issue which much more people have.
Would it be possible to make the latest version of WPS Hide Login compatible with the older php version again, it used to work before the 1.4.3 update.

Thanks for the help but that means that the latest version of WPS Hide Login will not be made compatible with older versions of php?
In that case and unfortunately I will need to search for another solution.
Note: If you’re using a version of PHP less that 5.6, it’s not being maintained nor is it secure. You should contact your host to be on *at least* 5.6, but preferably 7.1 or better. The PHP 7 version is more secure and faster.
I understand fully, problem is the host in question has no plans (yet) to do so. 🙁
And I believe I am not alone with this issue.
