I am getting the same error when I try to activate the plugn. I’m running WordPress 4.4.2 running the with Flexform theme.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Not what we had in mind for your first experience with Campaign Monitor for WordPress plugin. We expect to post a fix for this problem this week.
Ryan and Jen: We just submitted the updated version of our WordPress plugin. It should have resolved the parsing issue. LMK if you are still seeing this. Thanks for your patience!
Hi vibhorchhabra – I updated the plugin by am still getting an error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ /wp-content/plugins/forms-for-campaign-monitor/class/campaign_monitor.php on line 388

Hi, same here. I’ve also just updated and reactivated the plugin again and now getting exactly the same new error message as jenrstretch
Jen and Ryan, Could you tell us your PHP version and WP version?
Hi there,
I’m having the same issue too.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/yourkiller/public_html/pcca/wp-content/plugins/forms-for-campaign-monitor/class/campaign_monitor.php on line 388
Php v. 5.3, WP v.4.4.2
I upgraded to PHP v. 5.5 and I no longer get the error.
Thanks for that confirmation.
Here are the WordPress requirements which state you need to run
– PHP version 5.6 or greater
– MySQL version 5.6 or greater
If you upgrade to these versions and still encounter any issues please let me know.

We have now upgraded to PHP version 5.6 but my server company tell me I need to do a server upgrade to get MySQL to version 5.6, which seems strange as we have an agency reseller package with 50+ clients using this with no problem.
I have around 20 plugins running on this site and none of them are having fatal errors like this. I’ll try again in future versions of this plugin but for now, doesn’t work for me.
