It seems you are running very old php version , untill the plugin made compatible to lower php versions please use old version of this plugin
I get the same error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /u/s/stever777/websites/www.steverrobbins.com/docroot/wp-content/plugins/wp-hide-post/admin/class-wp-hide-post-admin.php on line 73
Where can we get an old version of the plugin?
This seems to be php being of lower version issue, can you please what php version you are using?
@rajneesh
I’ve got the exact same error on my site.
It is running php 5.3
Where can I find the previous version of the plugin?
And what version of php does your plugin require (and why?)
I found the previous versions.
I had to go back to 1.2.2 to get rid of the error.
Of course, now I have to constantly see the nag to upgrade that plugin. 🙂
Do you have any plans to fix this so that it would work with php 5.3?
It looks like a third of sites are still using 5.3:

Blessings and Thank You for your efforts.
For anyone else who needs it, here is where I found the old version that worked on my site (1.2.2).

we are looking in issues , any one having trouble can download from https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/wp-hide-post.1.2.2.zip and install it with ftp
PHP 5.3 here. My ISP says installing PHP 7 could have enough other side effects I should revert to a prior version of the plugin.
@stever777 you don’t have to go all the way to 7 – the current version of 5 is 5.6 (there is no version 6), I’m not sure why they couldn’t update you to that version but it might be worth asking… that’s the current minimum recommended version with WP.
Actually – forget that, the issue in my case is that they pushed version 2.0.3 to sites, which results in many database errors and all sorts of nonsense for sites that auto-update.
Don’t update PHP just for this, do revert to 1.2.2.
