Parse error: syntax error, unexpected

    While updating a plugin on our site I lost internet connectivity and I hit refresh and it returned: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘, expecting ‘)’ in /home/content/27/5539427/html/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/init.php on line 44”

    I can not access the admin portal; in fact I had to reregister for WordPress. Now I am afraid our church site is just gone.

    Does anyone have any suggestions? I desperately need help in fixing this.

    Based from the information you provided, It appears to be an issue with the theme you are using and not a plugin. I recommend that you contact your host (GoDaddy) for more information and you can also check this document.
