    I now get the message on my page

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘endif’ (T_ENDIF) in /customers/3/9/f/ms2s.dk/httpd.www/wp-content/themes/hope/sidebar.php on line 20

    not quite sure how to fix

    This sounds like an issue with your theme, to confirm this you can switch to a different theme such as Twenty Fifteen. The issue is that in your sidebar there is an endif; that should likely be removed or moved but without reviewing the code I couldn’t tell you for sure what the issue is.

    Cheers that worked – not sure how the endif got there with the upgrade but it is now removed and site works without error
