    Hi there,

I just yesterday paid for a HostGator account, and set up WordPress to start a blog. I installed a theme, and then decided to play around with it a little, and I guess it was more complicated that I was used to coming from Blogger.

I did something and this appeared:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home2/owlorfox/public_html/wp-content/themes/boldr-lite/functions.php on line 233

I do not know how to fix this. My browser is still viewing the theme stylesheet but I cannot click anything else to reinstall the theme and maybe fix it. Everything I select to goes to that error, including an attempt to log back in from scratch.

Any help on how to fix this would be great, I am new to this so please feel free to give it to me in simple terms! I just want it all to go back to default!

    Thanks in advance,

    – A

  • Try switching to the default theme by deleting the wp-content/themes/boldr-lite folder using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

Struggled with finding the folder using FTP as I am very new to web hosting etc. HostGator actually just gave me a curtousy call so I took the chance to ask and he said since it’s new to just delete wordpress and start over. I only lost one post.

    Thanks for the suggestion though!
