Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /path/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/widgets/em-events.php on line 24

I was monkeying around with the widget in plugin editor, made a wrong move, and now my entire site loads like this. I do not see this plugin listed in wp_options when browsing via phpmyadmin so I am not sure how to disable the plugin, fix it, and re-enable. My site is down, as well as my admin backend. Please let me know how to disable so that I can get my site back up and running.

    Thank you

  • If you only edited Events Manager, changing the name of the events-manager folder within the /wp-content/plugins/ folder will deactivate the plugin.

To do the renaming, you’d need to access the folder using FTP or the file manager of your hosting company.

I have renamed the directory to events-manager_old.

    My entire site still shows:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /home/tred23/public_html/cheerscharlotte/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/widgets/em-events.php on line 24

Dumped cache and cookies from my machine, tried in incognito window, et al. Site is broken.

another option is to download EM again and then using FTP you can override the files.
