• I downloaded the Chameleon Theme from Elegant Themes. I am using HostGator to host my domain. I was almost finished with my site, I was trying to edit the function.php file through the WordPress Admin site and when I went to click update I got the following message “

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/blaised/public_html/wp-content/themes/Chameleon/functions.php on line 284”

Now I can’t access my site nor the wp admin site. The above error message continues to come up. I really don’t want to have to start the whole thing from scratch as I did a lot of editing. I am new to WordPress and not really savy with building sites. If someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

  • Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
