I just updated my WordPress to 3.7. I also deleted Commentluv because I must have isntalled it incorrectly, which resulted in me not being able to comment on other sites. I still cant comment.
The biggest issue now is this error though
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in D:\Hosting\11999571\html\wp-content\themes\pretty-parchment\header.php on line 29

If you go to my site, iloveanaddict.com , thats all that is displayed! Yikes! I have no idea what I am doing.

  • You need to use FTP or Cpanel to access your site and deactivate your theme. Find the theme folder and rename your theme’s folder here:

    wp-content
        themes
            pretty-parchment.HOLD

That should let you login again.

BTW, is this the theme that you are using?

    http://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/pretty-parchment

    Way outdated!

Gosh thank you so much for getting back to me so quick- lifesaver! It worked. And shamefully, yes 😐 I am new to this. I changed the theme but if you have any suggestions as to what to look for to keep up-to-date, you know I can using and help/info available. LoL

    Thanks again!

Glad to hear you got it sorted!

what to look for to keep up-to-date

Well, there’s never any guarantee of whether a theme developer will keep maintaining a theme, but looking at the support forums and reviews for specific themes can give you some idea. And really, WP makes it pretty easy to switch themes – so even though it takes some work to fix various things in a new theme, it’s not like building a new site from the ground up.
