• If I publish an article on my blog but don’t publish an instant article version, there are no errors when I use facebook debugger.

    When I publish an instant article version I get the following error in facebook debugger.

    Parser Mismatched Metadata
    The parser’s result for this metadata did not match the input metadata. Likely, this was caused by the data being ordered in an unexpected way, multiple values being given for a property only expecting a single value, or property values for a given property being mismatched. Here are the input properties that were not seen in the parsed result: ‘ia:markup_url’

    Does anyone know what might be causing this issue? The cover image on the instant article version also doesn’t appear when I view it on newsfeeds on my phone.

    One of the affected articles is: https://www.autonomyscotland.org/the-emotional-case-for-union/

    Cheers,
    Bobby

  • Hi @autonomyscotland

    it seems that mentioned meta tag was expected to be in the instant article version as it is available in your article web version, to confirm if this is actually true you could edit the instant article on Facebook (same one from the link you mentioned) & paste the below meta tag & test

    <meta property="ia:markup_url" content="https://www.autonomyscotland.org/the-emotional-case-for-union/?ia_markup=1" />
