    Hi,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. Those .zip.part files are temporary chunks created during the backup process when the archive is large (usually over 1GB). Ideally, once the backup finishes successfully, these parts are automatically merged into a single .zip file and the .part files are deleted.

However, if the job fails or is interrupted midway, the parts remain on the server and that’s why you’re seeing both the final .zip file and leftover .zip.part files.

They’re not usable as-is and are safe to delete manually.

You can try a few things to reduce the chance of this happening again:

    • Go to BackWPUp > Settings > Jobs, and set Reduce server load to medium
    • Under archive type, switch from ZIP to Tar GZip (in some setups this is more stable for large files)
    • Please try splitting the big backup job into smaller ones; I believe it will help.

    Best Regards,
