Apart from my blog page which is fine, I’ve lost the correct text formatting and spacing on most of my pages.
You’ll see on the above page that apart from the text being incorrectly formatted (compared to the home page/blog), there is html code before the photo, for example.

I am using the ari theme.

To try to fix the problem I have just replaced my CSS file in the ari directory with a clean/never edited style.css file taken straight from the ari theme download. Yet the formatting problem is still there.

I did try a few different themes recently. Maybe that has corrupted some files.

I find this a little bizarre, as I thought all style issues could be fixed in the CSS file.

  • Try re-uploading a fresh copy of the complete theme using FTP.

    Thanks esmi.

I tried that. No luck, unfortunately.

I’m starting to think the database has some sort of error. It now doesn’t seem to matter which theme I’m using, the site has these problems.

I have also just created a test page. It is formatted incorrectly (compared to the perfectly fine home page).

    hmmm.

I suppose the problem in my solving this is also related to the fact that I’m new to WordPress – and don’t actually know where to look for the html file which lays behind say the test page.

    Ah, done it!

I de-activated and deleted a plugin and it sorted out the problem.

Can’t remember which plug-in though… am going to have a think, and hopefully post the name of the plug-in here for future readers. After that I’ll mark this as resolved.

Nope, can’t remember the name of the plugin I deleted.

I’ll have to be more carefully in choosing plugins in future.
