• When using participants login, it is setup to use email as the username and password – a password type field – encrypted.
However when the user logs in to see their profile the password field is shown with may more * characters than their password and if the profile is saved the old password no longer works. Only if the user re-types their password into the field before saving will the login subsequently work.

Seems screwey… but can’t track down the problem. I’ve tried enableing and disableing passwords – but can’t get it to work.

I’m sorry about this…I’m issuing a bug fix today.

Many thanks…. is this a fix to Participants Database or Participants Login?

OK.. It’s the participants database to 1.7.7.7 – I should have just checked myself.

I have upgraded and it is better… the only thing is that the password field is now always shown as empty – even when there is a password stored. Normally one expects a few *’s to be displayed to tell you that there is a value there.

So it just feels strange – not knowing if the password field has a value or not.

Yes, this was what I needed to do to fix the problem, but I agree it’s not the best UI. I have plans to have the field give an indication that a password is present, but it presents special problems.

OK, Thanks for the quick fix and I’ll see if I can think of a reasonable way to get get around the blank field. Thanks again.
