    Hi itthinx,

Excellent improvements to the plugin lately! I’m wondering if additional functionality could easily be added to the [groups_join] shortcode to require a user to enter a password prior to being able to join the group. Maybe an additional attribute within the shortcode such as [groups_join group=”X” password=”example”] that would cause a box to pop up after the button was clicked with a text field to enter the group password. Only after the correct password was entered would the user be able to join the group.

    Thanks for the support!

    Many thanks 🙂

For what you’re asking, there’s a simple solution which consists in creating a post that is password protected and placing the join button there.

    Hi itthinx,

Thanks for the response. The only problem with your solution above is that it is limited to protecting just one group_join shortcode. I’m looking to have a sort of groups directory page with a list of all the possible groups a user can join. With this format, there will be multiple “Join Group” buttons on the same page that will need different passwords associated to each one. That’s the reason I was hoping to have the functionality lie within the shortcode itself rather than the page or post.

    Thanks.
