    Hi
    I have this repeated problem where the smtp password is deleted. It happens more or less once a week.
    I have seen this reported previously – https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/fluentsmtp-password-keeps-getting-deleted/ – and have checked that
    – (I believe) I do not run any conflicting security plugin Like Sucuri (just Defender pro)
    – None of our plugins should alter the security SALT codes
    – I use a direct connection to our SMTP server.
    Any ideas what can cause this problem? Any known plugin conflicts, caching problems,…

    To help us understand your setup and potentially pinpoint the cause, could you please provide a list of all the active plugins on your WordPress site? This will help us rule out any potential conflicts, even if they aren’t explicitly known.

    Also, to expedite the troubleshooting process, would you be willing to share a short video demonstration or screenshots showing the issue occurring? This would be incredibly helpful in visualizing the problem and identifying any error messages or unusual behavior. For example, showing how you input the password and then later how it disappears.

    Thank your your feedback earlier
    The problem is gone, so I’ve had nothing more to show you.
    I have made no big changes on the site (including new plugins), so my guess: A conflict with a previous version of some plugin.

    That’s excellent news! I’m so glad to hear the problem with the SMTP password being deleted seems to have resolved itself. Thank you for letting us know.

    As you suspected, it’s quite possible a conflict with a previous version of a plugin, or even a transient glitch, was the culprit. These things can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint.
