Password not working

    Hi there,

    Hopefully someone can explain this to me quite simply. I go to sign into my blog and do everything exactly the same as I normally do – Username, Password. and it gives me this message –

    ERROR: The password you entered for the username foodmyfriend is incorrect. Lost your password?

    I reset the password, still doesn’t work. I have reset it about 6 times today and it is doing my head in!!

    Any ideas?

    Are you using any caching plugins?

    I have no idea. I have never had this problem before. I can’t get into the blog to check what I’m running!

    Hi,

    Have the same problem.

    i open my site with http://www.mysite.xxx -> login is ok
    i open my site with http://mysite.xxx -> cannot login

    what is going wrong here? a new feature 🙂

    @ralfpeter61: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread with a question of your own and it causes significant problems for the forum’s volunteers. Please post your own topic.

    @foodmyfriend: You should know what plugins you are using. Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    @esmi: first i use the search function and thought that this could be the same problem. didnt want to be impolite, wanted to add more info.

    @foodmyfriend: could you please look at your url. is it with www. or without www. do you habe the same result?

    Are you using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster? No? Then post a new topic.

    I know i should know, but someone else designed it. I just fill the content.

    I can’t get into my blog to change any of those settings. Is there nothing that I can do from the outside? I don’t understand why it is so difficult!

    I think you can tell that I’m not very good at this sort of thing, so the simpler you can make it would be much appreciated.

    @ralfpeter61 – I can’t sign in either of those ways but always have through www.

    Are you using FoxFire?

    Try a different browser.

    Using explorer. Haven’t used anything different with this blog. First issue in 12 months!

    Try a different browser. Have you rebooted your computer or used Ctrl, F5 to clear the cache?

    Also you can log in to your hosted account, https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/account/cpanel, and using the file manager follow the instructions esmi gave you.

    None of that is working. I don’t understand why it won’t accept the password even when it keeps being re set?

    If you are unable to login using the above link, please read the methods recommended HERE. If you read carefully and follow the instructions, you can certainly reset your password.

    If that also does not help you, or if that is what you cannot do, perhaps your hosting company’s support team will help you.

    Is there someone I can pay to do this? A company or something? ANYTHING?! I just want it fixed.. 🙁
