I have a members only section on my site and I want these people to have access to a chat room, but I don’t want them to login from the back end, I want them to go to a landing page and type in their pass and go to a page with a list of chat rooms. Will this plugin do this? If not is there one out there?

    Cheers,

    Michael

Should work just fine. Our plugin uses a custom post type, so either the custom post type archive or a custom query to show just their titles/permalinks would probably be best. The rest is all WordPress powered so you’d just have them log in like normal

I’m creating chat rooms in the “Chat Rooms” tab in the Dashboard, copying the permalinks, creating hyperlinks out of the permalinks attached descriptive text (for each chat room) listed on a WP page. It works but all the “Chat Rooms” share the same string. After you pass the login to access the page it says you need to log in to join the chat, but logging in as a user in WP is essencially logging in on the back end, you have to wade through the dashboard to view/find the page to chat. Maybe I’m missing something.

It sounds like a login/session issue to me. I know from experience it’s possible to offer custom login forms and you can prevent people from accessing the WP Dashboard.
