I’d like to password protect a page – which I’ve been able to do but what I’d like to do is edit the page where it asks for the password to display instructions for getting a password…I’ve dug around for a while but I can’t seem to figure out where to edit to put those instructions. Any help one could offer would be great.

  • Hey dude I have the exact same problem and no where on here gives any help on how to fix the problem. Have you been able to find a work around for it now?

I’m looking for this information too. Let me know if you find it!

Good morning. I am working on my first wordpress site and want to have one of the pages password protected. I added password protection to the page through Page Edit, but something isn’t working correctly. Any help you could give would be great!

Using WordPress 2.7.1, in Edit Page I set visibility to “Password Protected”. However, when I click on the link to the page, it never prompts me for the password, but takes me directly to the page.
I am using a page template that, when loaded, queries a db and builds a table.
Where can I find the default template, and what is it in the default template that enables the password protection?
    Thanks for any insights…

Alternatively, can I embed my code to query db and build the table when editing a page based on the default template?
    Thanks…

Got it working with the exec-PHP plugin.
