I created a custom post type for our meetings. In the Publish options for a meeting, I changed the Visibility to Password protected and set the password. However, the content still shows when accessing this page. I know it’s protected because the title shows as “Protected: 2024 Q4 Meeting”. I am testing in browser where I haven’t added the password before. Does password protection work for custom post types?

I also installed Password Protected Categories plugin and tested with this enabled and disabled, but did not change anything.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

No limits that I’m aware of with regards to password protected content and custom post types.

As long as you’re using the_content() it should be prompting for a password, regardless of logged in status.

Thank you, the issue was that I was missing the content element in my Avada layout.

Awesome to hear that you figured this out with Avada.
