Password Reset Issue

    When I went to login to one of my blogs today I got a wrong password error. I looked for my latest password reset, tried that, but it still didn’t work.

    I reset my password, click the link sent in the email and I recieved:

    Password Lost and Changed for user: (my user name)

    But no password was included.

    Just want to see if anyone has had this problem, and to ask also in what folder would my WP password be in so I can retrieve it via FTP.

    I too am having the same kind of problem … been unable to get into the site for a couple of days now.
    I have tried many times resetting the password with phpMyadmin — all looks good … I can see that my password has been reset … the MD5 hash looks ok but all I get once I log in is the page once again asking for log in details.

    I have updated all the wordpress files with the latest versions

    I would like to try as a last resort the village-idiot php file but I get a 403 error message each time I try their site.

    Could somebody email me or point me to another URL where I can pick up their emergency password recovery file ?

    extra text is being added at the front of the MD5 hashed code
    Having problems entering part of my site as the password is refused.

    Upon checking via phpMyAdmin and also MySql it would appear that extra text is being added at the front of the MD5 hashed code

    $P$

    which throws the password out.

    I have edited the password via both systems but still nothing working

    Could it have something to do with the Charset being wrong ?

    sorted … it was one of the plugins that was adding stuff to the front of the MD5 hashed code . I switched off all plugins and then put them back in one by one … and now its all working again.

    problem is I dont know just which plugin it was causing the problem
