    Hi.

I would really appreciate some help here…

I have just done a fresh WP install on a new domain name.

I am trying to change the generic password that is generated to something more memorable.

In previous versions of WP this was easy… all you would do is log in to domain/wp-admin and then edit the admin profile and type a new password.

This feature seems to be missing!

The only option is to let WP generate a new password which is even more complex than the first one!!!

Furthermore, when I try the ‘reset password via email’ option on the wp-admin log in page, again I get no reset link sent to my email inbox!!!

    What is happening???

Any help would be kindly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    I appreciate that.

I have now reset the password using the email resetter option.

The reason it was not working previously (i think) is because I was using the same admin email for another WP installation so this was confusing WP and thus the email reset link was not reaching my inbox.

I think my query is just a heads up for everyone out there that the old system of resetting your password from the wp-admin dashboard no longer seems to be available in the latest version 3.1.4.

Unless someone else knows a way to do this, it might be helpful for others with the same issue in the future.
