That’s not a link, that’s an iframe. It’s a content embed, probably an interactive widget.
You can’t turn that code into a link, but Amazon should be able to provide you with just a URL if all you want to do is link it.
When I click on the get link tab in amazon, that’s what is gives me.
The Get Link tab gives you an iframe? That doesn’t seem right at all. :/
I recommend getting in touch with Amazon over this, there has to be a way to get a simple affiliate URL from them.
What they’re giving you now is an interactive iframe, not a URL which can be used as a link.
I agree and I will. Thanks for your help, response and recommendation.
You know I’m going to have to give you the same answer as above, right? 😉
That’s an interactive iframe widget. If you just want the widget, post it by itself in the Text editor tab (not the Visual tab).
If you want a text link, the code you have won’t work, it’s not a URL, it’s an interactive widget. If you want a text link, you will need to get the affiliate URL from Amazon.
This is an Amazon problem, not a WordPress problem, you will need to contact Amazon for help with getting just a plain affiliate URL, not an interactive iframe widget.
MaxmanX I posted it again bc i needed you to see that it at least has the amazon url in it. So in an interactive frame such as this, even though it has the url it wont work?
I am trying to do both. If I post it in text editor alone will I be able to see after updating?
Before I contact amazon again, i wanted you to see this. Last time I spoke with them they said it was a wordpress issue.
Thanks for the follow-up…

Right, you need just the URL, and only the URL, that’s how any link works. 🙂
<a href="URL goes here, not an iframe, just the URL">Text Link</a>
An iframe is a stand-alone element, it’s a single interactive widget. There is no linkable URL in your iframe code, just the src which loads the iframe.
If you want the interactive iframe widget, not a text link, paste that into the Text editor tab (not the Visual tab), don’t make a link out of it.
If you want a text link, not an interactive widget, you will need to get a plain affiliate URL from Amazon.
I pasted the code as given in one of my pages (text side) and it works fine.

I am new to all of this so when I copy the frame into my text section, when I update what am I supposed to see on my webpage? I can see a blank box in visual, but nothing when I update and go to my site.
It could be a cache problem. Try clearing your cache.
I see an Amazon book link box with book cover showing a caveman holding a club next to a green apple. Selling for $6.30.
Can you give us a link to the post or page you added this to?
This is what I posted:

Wrong post. That one works. The amazon widget I posted in the text all of a sudden worked. Go figure…..
