The slideshow has the option to pause on hover. To achieve this go to Testimonials > View > edit the view in question > Slideshow > Behavior > and check ‘Pause on hover’ > save.

This doesn’t Work for the controls because of the absolute position. Is there a class or anything I can add to detect the hover ?

As much as I would love to help, the pause on hover option was not designed to also work on the control buttons. It will pause the slider when the cursor is on the slide. For pausing using the control buttons users can press the pause button.
