    Hello,

I recently updated to version 4.2.0 of this plug in and find the new payment fields very strange looking. So, when a user selects “Pay with your credit or debit card via Stripe.” the fields for card number, exp date and CVC are really big! I’ve never seen a checkout like this before, it looks untrustworthy. Is it supposed to look like this? If so, is there a way to change it? Or is it a fault on my site?

Many thanks for any help, Bryan

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I took a quick look at your checkout page, and I wasn’t able to see the fields for card number, expiration date and CVC. I only saw the “Pay with your credit or debit card via Stripe” text. Has something changed recently?

Also, the way that these fields are displayed can be modified by your theme. So, it’s likely something you’d need to adjust with CSS to fit to your liking. You could always check in with your theme author for help, or you could look into your theme’s support forums for CSS help.

If you need a lot of custom changes, you could also look into hiring someone to help: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

    Cheers!

Hi Lacey, thanks for the reply. Yes, I did roll back the plug in to an earlier version that uses the modal payment fields. So, you think it’s more to do with the theme than the stripe plug-in? Thanks for the help.

    Howdy!

I’m not 100 percent sure, but I have seen themes change how the fields are displayed before. You can quickly test this by switching to a default theme, like Storefront: https://woocommerce.com/storefront/

When switching, does this adjust the credit card fields? You can also test on a staging site if you don’t want to run the test on the live site. Here’s a plugin that will allow you to duplicate the site if interested: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-staging/
