Hi @spaceinvad3r,
Is there any chance you swapped from live to testing or the other way around with Stripe? If so this message can be triggered.
Say I have the site temporarily in test mode to make a purchase and save a credit card to my account. When I switch back to live, the test card will no longer work because it’s saved under the test API keys. That causes this error message to show.
If any testing was done like this, you can most likely ignore this message. Otherwise, you could wait and see if any customers report issues using their saved credit cards. That’s the feature that could potentially be affected.
Let us know if you have any questions or run into problems with customers.
Thanks
Hi Three Sons,
thanks a lot for your answer!
Yes I switched from Test mode into Live mode like most of the people. I did not change anything else, but this message still show up.
When I understand you the right way, this message means that I switched from test mode into live mode and the test mode card will no longer work because it is on the live mode now, is that correct?
Seems like I dont need to take care to much about this message. However I will make a live test payment to be sure that the payment method is working well.
Is there a way to disable this message?
Thanks 🙂
Hi @spaceinvad3r,
Yes, that’s correct. If your live API keys weren’t touched, the switch is definitely the cause of the message.
Following the steps highlighted here to clear your database should remove the message – I’ll only recommend doing this if you recently switched from live to test mode, and customers haven’t started using Stripe on live mode and saving their card information.
Otherwise, I’ll let the message be, as it’s bound to disappear on its own with time.
I hope this helps!
