I setup paypal donations gateway, but every time I try to test it with $1-2 donations it fails with the message

    “The request was refused”

nothing shows in paypal activity report or givewp logs.

    Ok. an update.

I thought it might be an issue with the multistep form so switch to the legacy interface.

now after the donation givewp redirects to an empty/blank page at
    domain.com/donations/test-paypal-donation-campaign/?payment-mode=paypal-commerce&form-id=9072

More details: Paypal integrations reports show my test transactions failing with error code 402.

Credit company has no block and tells me paypal refuses to accept the payment even though they approve it.

    Hi @virap,

According to PayPal “Error: 422 Unprocessable Entity” means one of two things:

    1. Your PayPal account must have an adequate balance to cover the payouts it is attempting to process. Unlike personal PayPal accounts that withdraw from a bank or credit card source, you must have a sufficient existing PayPal balance to cover the referrals you are attempting to pay out, or you will receive this error. Also, know that your PayPal sandbox account has a separate balance than your live account, so make sure it is adequately funded as well prior to testing with a sandbox account.

    2. The currency code the funds are being sent in cannot be received by the recipient due to country or account regulations.”

So that brings up two questions:
    1. Are you using Give@P in Test mode?
    2. What currency are you using?

Thank you. I am not sure I understood.

To process credit card payments we need to have a balance in the account that is greater than the donation amount?

GiveWP is live, not in a test mode or sandbox. It works perfectly well when connected to another PayPal account but not with the new business account in question.

    Hi @virap,

I’m not sure what Paypal means by that either. I found the answer in one of their documents but I suggest you reach out to Paypal for clarification.

If you post a link to your donation form I’ll be happy to test it out too.

    Thanks!
