That link is for the pro version, and I have the free version. Do I need the pro version? What is confusing is there is a Paypal configuration in the free version, along with paid membership settings. What is the functionality of these in the free version, and is there documentation for that?

The activating of the Paid membership options is the same for both versions. Both versions need a paypal configuration, actually it’s not a configuration, you just need to set the email address associated with your paypal account, set a currency, that’s it. You can run some tests by using the paypal sandbox as well.
In few words:
1) Create your membership packages.
2) Set your Paypal Account.
3) Change the registration type to “Paid Registration”.
That’s it.

Ok, I see the setting now for registration. Thanks for your help!
I have a follow up question regarding this. In order for me to get this to work, I had to check the “anyone can register” box in the settings of my word press admin. However, this allows anyone to register by hitting the /wp-login.php?action=register page that wordpress offers by default, thus bypassing the payment.
Is there a setting in UU to prevent this, or should I lock down that Word Press page some how?
Just click on Settings, scroll down to Redirect Settings and make sure that “Redirect Backend Registrations” is checked.
