When I try to process a donation from this page, whether in Sandbox mode or Live mode, I receive a Paypal error that says there is a problem with the Paypal email address. However, I have triple checked the email address, and it works fine with a different plugin. Here is a screenshot of the error message: https://www.dropbox.com/s/feqmy709enohi9v/Screenshot%202015-10-15%2012.25.14.png?dl=0
It’s possible you’re using the sandbox email address for live, or the live email address for the sandbox. That’s all I can think of that would be obvious.
Shouldn’t be (unless PayPal is having problems today). Walk through the following tutorial and if you’re following the steps, then we’re good on our side:
Then, you might want to reach out to PayPal and see if they have any record of problems with the address on their end.
Hello again,
PayPal says there is nothing wrong on their end or with my PayPal account. They said that the long line of numbers and letters at the top of the error page (which you can see in the screenshot) is the email address they are receiving from Seamless, which is why PP thinks there is a problem with the address.
I tried a different donations plugin with the same email account and it worked fine, so this appears to be a problem with Seamless. I’m using it with the Patricia theme and WordPress 4.3.1. Any ideas?
Thanks!
On the Settings Page of the Seamless Donations dashboard, what is the email address in the PayPal Email Address field? Try changing it, saving it, and changing it to the correct PayPal address and see if it works.
That’s a simple WordPress option, so it should be passed directly to PayPal. That long, weird sequence isn’t like anything I’ve seen before.
No, just an organizational email address ([email protected]). What’s more, the long line of letters and numbers on the PayPal error page changes from time to time.
No. I actually have no idea what could be causing that. Is there anything unusual about your installation? Are you using any sort of options-changing or email plugins? Are you doing anything illegal, unethical, or fattening?
At this point, that would have to be my recommendation. Do yourself a favor, though, and take a comprehensive backup. That behavior could be indicative of some sort of corruption on your site, and it’s good to have a backup in case some other symptoms show up later.
Good luck,
