Oops – the reason I cannot sell tickets via PayPal yet may be that PayPal decided to close my new PayPal account immediately after I created it, for a reason they do not communicate. So I contacted them and try to get my account running.
Hi @derulfdunkel, it seems like it. Thanks for the updates here. Just to confirm, is it now working on your end?
Not yet, I still have to supply more information to PayPal for re-activating the relevant account.
Hi @derulfdunkel, please do keep us posted. Have a great week ahead.
Hi folks, I have adjusted things but still cannot use the Event Tickets plugin successfully. This is what I have adjusted and checked:
- The PayPal account is a business account and all required information has been given, so PayPal has unlocked everything on that account again.
- A real bank account has been assigned to that PayPal account and has already been verified.
- I have double-checked that I set up everything in the Event Tickets plugin like described here in the manual.
- I ran the conflicts tests in WP by deactivating all plugins but Event Tickets and The Events Calendar, activating the Twenty-Two design and retrying to purchase a ticket (in Tickets Commerce test mode). No success.
May I have forgotten to set up more stuff in PayPal? I thought the Event Tickets plugin does all by itself. I even checked the IPN simulator on PayPal (still active until 8 Dec 2022) and everything seemed to work fine in Sandbox mode for e.g. this test IPN url: https://hasetheater.de/tickets-checkout/?tec-tc-cookie=WPmecXfo9c7m
I really appreciate your help.
Best, Ulf

Any recommendations and advices?
Hi @derulfdunkel, it seems like you’re still following the Tribe Commerce, which is the Old way/method.
Using Tickets Commerce, there’s no need to set up the IPN, and it should work connecting to PayPal.
See the article here to learn more:

Let us know how it goes.
Best,

Dear Abz,
this is very irritating. I was not aware of any Tribe stuff. I installed Event Tickets out of the box some time ago.
I now de-installed both “Event Tickets” (ET) and “The Events Calendar” (TEC) and re-installed them afterwards.
I am not able to create tickets in ET without TEC, right?
But TEC now tells me in its Settings page that is doesn’t support Full-Site-Editor themes yet. And I can no longer add any ET tickets to any event created in TEC.
I’m lost.

Honestly, I think you irritate users more than you help them. Wouldn’t it be a great idea to at least tidy up your product titles?
Why do you name “Event Tickets” sometimes “Event Tickets and Registration”, but not “The Event Tickets” (to indicate that it’s a companion of “The Events Calendar”)?
Why do you tell people Event Tickets work fine without The Event Calendar but I cannot create any ticket on my WordPress pages which run a FSE theme?
I would really like to start using Event Tickets and maybe upgrade to a paid version later, but the first steps are still rather irritating and difficult. Even because I thought I had finally set up everything for PayPal properly but it seemed as if the Event Tickets plugin still brought the Tribe stuff which I cannot switch now – probably due to the used FSE theme.
I would really like to know how to create an event and a ticket with Event Tickets in an FSE theme WP page.
Hi @derulfdunkel,
I am not able to create tickets in ET without TEC, right?
You should be able to use ET without TEC. You can create RSVPs and tickets on WordPress pages and posts even if you don’t have The Events Calendar.
But TEC now tells me in its Settings page that is doesn’t support Full-Site-Editor themes yet. And I can no longer add any ET tickets to any event created in TEC.
That’s correct. We’re still working on stabilizing TEC version 6, and we’d resume working on this afterward. Partial Support for FSE themes.
For now, using a non-FSE theme is the only workaround.
Thank you,

Hi @derulfdunkel ,
This thread has been inactive for a while, so we’ll go ahead and mark it Resolved. Please open a new thread if any other questions arise, and we’d be happy to help.
The issue has not been resolved, so closing this thread is not a good idea.
“For now, using a non-FSE theme is the only workaround.” That’s no solution, but a bad workaround. Please re-open this thread. Thank you.
Is there any news as to when the Event Tickets will support FSE themes? I would rather not step backwards to non-FSE themes.
