PDF cache not clearing

    An ongoing issue is when I replace a PDF file in WP’s media library and then clear the site cache, it still shows the old PDF file – unless I update the PDF name. Even after replacing the PDF file and renaming it, a link to the old PDF file name still works – but it should show a 404, as that file should not exist anymore and no longer appears in my media library. So it seems the old file is still cached, as clearing a browser history/cookies doesn’t solve it either. This is an issue because people sometimes bookmark the PDF link itself instead of the website page where it’s linked. If they bookmark the old PDF file name, they still see the old file, despite its having been replaced. Please advise.

    Hi,

    Once you have updated the PDF, are you clearing cache and doing a preload.

    It would also be worth trying the option to “Always purge this page when saving a post with selected post type” under cache >> Advanced settings.
