    Hello
I installed the plugin and it works okay but a question.

I have set the invoice number to start at 100500 for eksampel.

I then try to make 2 orders. Order 1240 and 1241.

If I press the PDF invoice icon on the order 1241 and the invoice number is 100500 and then I press the PDF icon for order 1240 and then the invoice number is 100501 ?

Do this plugin fist make the invoice number when we press the PDF icon ?

The invoice number should be created with the order and not when you pres the PDF icon.

For my exampel the incoice number for order 1240 should be 100500 and for the order 1241 , invice number 100501.

The invoice number should be created with the order.

What do you say, is it me who has set it up wrong ?

    Thanks
    anders

    Hello Anders,
If you’re from the EU (your profile says your from paris), I strongly advise you not to use that function.

    Here’s why:
You will probably find that there’s always a percentage of orders that will not be payed for or cancelled. But with that filter, they will get an invoice number assigned! For all these cancelled/failed orders, you will need to make credit notes to keep in your administration.

You wrote: ‘The invoice number should be created with the order.’, but the rationale of the invoice numbering is that an invoice number should only be created when an invoice is actually created (that could be manually with the button, or automatic by email attachment). If the invoice number is coupled to the order numbers, the numbering will inevitably break. Moreover, tax administration doesn’t care about order numbers, and I can’t think of any reason why (in your example) order 1240 shouldn’t be able to get 100501 when 1241 gets 100500. After all, this was the order in which the invoices were created! Note that if you bulk export, the plugin will actually start with the oldest order.

    Hope that helps!
