    Hello!

We have some issues with the invoices in combination with Bol.com (a Dutch mass retailer). When we send our customers an automatic e-mail, we get an error from that website (see link). The picture from the link says: ‘Your e-mail does not conform to the allowed file formats. Only the following file formats are allowed: etc…’. Clearly PDF is included here, though we keep getting this error. We have been selling on this platform for over 3 years, half a year ago we started to receive this error. Did anything major change in an update of some kind?

After contacting a help desk of our Bol.com partner, they recommended using PDF version 1.4 (acrobat 5.x) instead of PDF version 1.7 (acrobat 8.x). Is there any way to do this? I suppose this is not a standard option in the plug-in. Would it also be possible to reduce the size of the PDF, ours is currently 268 kB while being completely stripped down. Perhaps this will solve it as well.

I look forward to hear from you soon!

    Hi @steindegroot

    Sorry for the late reply!

Currently the library we use by default, DOMPDF, supports only PDF 1.7, although you could try the other supported library mPDF that supports PDF/A, you can download it here.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi @steindegroot,

In addition to what my colleague said, to reduce the size of the PDF, you can try activating the Enable font subsetting option, under WooCommerce > PDF Invoices > General:

A screenshot that displays the Enable font subsetting checked

Also, if you have set a logo for the shop, try to reduce its size to the actual output (you may be using a bigger size than the actual output). Finally, if the logo is a PNG file, convert it to JPEG instead.

The maximum recommended image resolution is 600dpi, but most logos can be less than 200dpi.

    Hope it helps!
