if it is not perfect then what are you missing?
I need to fix some errors (which don’t break the plugin at the moment) and the time log writing in Analytics is not right if you use different intervals than 10 secs.
I want to make it 100% compatible with MonsterInsight and put the code in the footer instead of the header.
There are more things on my wishlist, but that’s for later.
About that…
understood….
But, what I know is I went from 75-80% bounce to 15%… This is huge as I make money from selling ads and such and a 15% bounce rate is a lot better than showing someone an 80%… HUGE!!
Again! Great work. I look forward to the updates! 🙂
The bounce for Google remain the same. The bounce rates in your Analytics stats have changed.
i’m sorry, i don’t understand?
This plugin doesn’t change Google’s stats for your website. It only changes the stats in your Analytics. Google has it’s own way of measuring bounce rates and I can’t do anything about this with this plugin.
But you’ll have now the real bounce rates in your Analytics and can profit from that. So the plugin corrects the way how Google things about bounce rate:
Worst case scenario
A visitor is very interested in one of your pages and takes 2 minutes and 13 seconds to read the article. After this he bookmarks the page and leaves.
This visitor stayed 2 minutes and 13 seconds on your page, but never interacted with it. To Google that is a bounce! And bounced visits are marked 0:00 Time on Site. Not fair, right?Another bad scenario
A visitor goes to your website and stays 1 minute and 11 seconds on the first page. Then, he goes to a second page where he stays 1 minute and 12 seconds. Without any interaction on this page, he leaves. Since Google doesn’t know how long your visitor stayed on the second page, Google will add only the time the visitor spent on the first page to Analytics. Not fair, right? This plugin sets this straight. It will tell Google Analytics every 10 seconds that your visitor is still on the page and that there was some interaction on that page. Your page will be “unbounced”.
Yes, I completely understand!! and hence why I thank you!
In that case: You are welcome!
