• I’ve got a strange problem. I want to set my page permalink as: linkandlead.nl . But instead, the premalink always force me to add something extra at the end. Link linkandlead.nl/home or linkandlead.nl/link-lead etc.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
    Thanks a lot!

You want what’s currently visible at linkandlead.nl/home to be at linkandlead.nl instead?

If so, follow this guide: https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Hi James, Thanks for your feedback.
When I set it to static front page, the whole website content disappeared….

The thing is, this website is a one page website. I don’t understand why I can’t set the URL as linkandlead.nl , since there is no other pages..

Oddly enough, it looks like you have maybe two separate WordPress installations. One at linkandlead.nl and one at linkandlead.nl/home

Does that sound like the case? Or, is this a Multisite Network?

I have the wordpress theme and the child theme. Is that what you mean by separate installations?

I updated the theme. I had 2 pages before updating. One is linkandlead.nl, which is the page I was using. The other one is linkandlead.nl/testpage , which is where I did test and draft etc.
After updating, I found weird things is that the linkandlead.nl shows thing incorrectly, while the other one has the correct content. So I deleted the linkandlead.nl and want to use the testpage. Then I have the problem that I can’t remove the testpage from the URL.

Maybe this is a different problem then I first described ?

No, but I’m not seeing the problem I saw earlier, so maybe that was just a caching issue.

Then I have the problem that I can’t remove the testpage from the URL.

To do that, you need to set testpage as your front page: https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

If that still isn’t working for you, switch to the Twenty Sixteen theme and see if it works under that.

The front page was already static. So I tried to switch to Twenty Sixteen and switch back.
Now all the website customization is gone…!!!
    What should I do now

Did it work under the Twenty Sixteen theme? The point was to see if the Twenty Sixteen theme had the same problem as your current theme.

No, it has the same problem in the twenty sixteen theme.
Now how can I restore all the customization I made at the original theme?

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

What is the name of the theme, and where did you get it from?

(A properly coded theme would have never lost customizations just by switching to another theme, so that doesn’t make much sense as to why that would have happened, unless you deleted the theme rather than simply activating Twenty Sixteen then switching back.)
