permalink failure after installing upgrade

    I am having trouble with the permalinks to the pages on my wordpress site. I have checked all the usual setup stuff and everything seems to correspond but when you click on the page it just stays white and says done.

    When i test the pages when i am logged in to administrator everything is fine, but as soon as I log out and test I get the blank page with “Done” at the bottm. It appears the isssue is only when I’m logged out of the admin page.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    I have done this and now the site works fine with microsoft explorer but when i test with google the hyperlinks wont work. I have installed a plug in Google XML Sitemaps which got the permalinks working but im now having trouble with the hyperlinks. Suggestions?
