• When I go to start a new post, the “Permalink: http://yoursite.com/” section between the headline and body section is gone. So, now I can’t name my pages on my site.

Any ideas why this is gone or how to get it back?

Then only thing I did recently is upgrade to version 3.0.4

  • It only appears (I think) once you have added a title and start writing your page with the first autosave.

Mark, yes that’s what normally happens, but not anymore. After I read your reply I went back and tried again…I just realized that what’s happening is that there is no autosave happening. Even when I put in my tags and it normally begins to pull up any related past tags that I put in, that’s not happening either…so, it looks like the autosave isn’t working…any ideas?

Check your wp-config.php as autosave can be disabled in there.

When you manually ‘SAve as Draft’ or publish does the permalink box appear?

hmmm, I clicked Save Draft and it appeared but now it won’t let me edit the permalink. I click the Edit button, but nothing happens…this is fun 🙂

Thanks for helping me fix the first issue! any thoughts on this new one?

try deactivating all plugins and doing a test post…

possibly a slight incompatibility with the new WP version and a plugin

thanks, I’ll give that a shot…will take some time as I have quite a few plugins

you can deactivate all plugins at once to test, from the plugin menu.

If it works after that, reactivate one at a time to test. That part does take a while.
