    Hi,

I’ve made a site with Goran and thanks to help here, it’s all working great. I do have a question though.

My home page is Goran’s Grid-Page Template. To enable the theme feature of displaying child pages in a grid on the page, I’ve made certain pages children of the home page. Everything behaves fine BUT I get a duplicate of the home-page in the URL string of all child pages.

    Home page is here:
    http://www.scottysconstruction.co.nz

If we go to PROJECTS off the home-page, we get the following:
    http://scottysconstruction.co.nz/welcome-scottys-construction/projects/

How can I stop the “welcome-scottys-construction” from appearing?

Note, that if I go to the the home-page from my dashboard, the permalink displays as follows:
    Permalink: http://scottysconstruction.co.nz/

I need to include “welcome-scottys-construction” as my page title so that it displays on the home-page.

Thanks for any help with this.

  • Hi there,

There isn’t a built in way to permanently remove the reference to “welcome-scottys-construction” from the child pages. You could, however, edit that permalink to something more aesthetically pleasing.

To edit the permalink, first temporarily assign a different page as your site’s front page. Next, head to the editor for “welcome-scottys-construction.” You will see the page’s permalink just under the title field. Select the button to “edit” and then type in anything you wish to appear in place of the existing permalink.

Let me know if that’s helpful or if you have further concerns.

A very belated Thank You! I managed to shorten the permalink, but not remove it totally.

    You’re welcome!

I’m sorry that I didn’t have the answer that you were looking but am glad you were able to shorten the permalink.

Please feel free to start a new thread if any extra questions come up.
